The
SCJTL Summer League
an inclusive “playing” experience for all junior tennis
participants.
Since 1997 the
SCJTL
Summer League
has
offered all participants the opportunity to play on teams on a league
that emphasizes fun, fitness and friends. The SCJTL Summer League
has generated more school tennis team players than any tennis
program in Suffolk Country!
SCJTL teams are organized to
match players of similar age and ability. Rules are made flexible to
accommodate age and level abilities. Team scoring systems are
designed to count everyone’s effort. All activities are
supervised by a trained and highly motivated staff of Site
Directors, Assistant Site Directors and Site Assistants many of whom
currently play or have played in SCJTL programs.
Green and Red Divisions
Kids ages 4 through 13 can now learn to play and compete the fun and
fast way using QuickStart
Tennis and modified Game Based formats. Using the latest
transition tennis court format and tennis balls makes tennis scaled
to age and skill level. SCJTL Summer League players may also
purchase Wilson EZ Tennis Trainer racquets used in
SCJTL STA QuickStart
Tennis Camps. The right format with the right equipment will
give all kids a chance to learn tennis easier and fun!
The SCJTL Summer League tennis team format provides every tennis
player
the thrill of being part of a team just like the big kids.
White and
Blue Divisions
Kids who already play or plan to
play on School Tennis Teams
develop match play skills and experience by playing tennis matches against
their peers. The SCJTL Summer League provides
junior tennis players the opportunity to play members of Middle
School, Junior Varsity, and Varsity tennis teams from all over
Suffolk County.
The SCJTL Summer League recreational competition
format includes singles and doubles using modified scoring systems
as well as other games the contribute to building essential tennis
skills.
Inter-site matches
are scheduled between SCJTL sites to provide a diversified
experience. White
& Blue player development instructional units combined with drills
and match topics covered weekly play offer junior tennis players
the opportunity to improve their game.
