SCJTL Challenge Week Details

GREEN and RED DIVISION - The GREEN and RED CHALLENGES will take place on Wednesday, August 17, 2011.

All registered Green and Red Division players play in this event to be held at the Mt. Sinai Middle School tennis courts on Rte. 25A in Mt. Sinai at the following times:

Red Division: 5:30pm to 8:00pm.

Green Division: 6:30pm to 7:30 pm

All other sites will be closed for this day!

The GREEN & RED CHALLENGES are a friendly competitive event for new tennis players giving them the experience of competing against SCJTL Red Division sites as the more advance teams do in their challenges.

*Schedule is changed due to low registration numbers.

Green Division players will all be winners. SCJTL medals will be distributed after the games and players will have a chance to meet Deuce the SCTEF mascot. Photos may be taken with Deuce by groups.

Red Division 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place teams will be awarded placement medals.

Every player will received SCJTL program medals after the Challenge.

2. WHITE AND BLUE DIVISIONS - The SCJTL TEAM TENNIS CHALLENGE will take place on Thursday, August 18, 2011.

All registered White and Blue Division players will play in this event to be held at the Mt. Sinai Middle School tennis courts on Rte. 25A in Mt. Sinai at the following times:

White Division: 4pm to 6pm*

Blue Division: 6pm to 8pm

*Even though White Divisions at some sites play from 6 to 8pm we are scheduling this way to provide maximum play time during this most important event. 

All other sites will be closed for this day!

These events are a great experience for everyone who plays in it. SCJTL teams from all sites will compete for first and second place team trophies and the high scoring site will have its name engraved on the SCJTL Championship Cup.

2011 Summer Tennis League participation medals will also be given out at this event.

If you cannot make it by the start of the session you will not be left out. The format is flexible enough to allow rotating any late comers in so as to not exclude anyone. 

Only players registered for week #6 are eligible to participate.

Please let your Site Director know that you intend to be there.

Parents, of course, welcome to stay for as much of the event as they wish.

Players whose registrations ends before this event may receive their medals on the last day of their registration. Ask the Site Director for the medal.

Rain make-up:

Rain make-up day (if any) will be announced in the event of rain out.  Friday August 19 is the makeup day for one canceled event. Monday (8/22) or Tuesday (8/23) are also options if 2 days are canceled.

Any rain makeup's will take place at the Mt. Sinai Middle School tennis courts!

3. TEAM SHIRTS- Please wear your team shirts to all team events. Additional shirts are available in all sizes in limited quantities for $13.25 each. You may order extra shirts through your SCJTL Family Tennis web site or call 631-590-5019. A supply will be on hand in case you need to purchase a shirt on Challenge Day.

Directions to Mount Sinai School tennis courts (from SCJTL Northport via Rte. 347):   Rte 347 EAST pass Rte 112 and continue to the 3rd light.

Directions to Mount Sinai School tennis courts (from SCJTL Riverhead via LIE): LIE east to Exit 63 North Ocean Ave. (North) Continue north to intersection of North Ocean and 25A.

Make a left and go to 2nd light.

At that intersection you will see the MT. SINAI POST OFFICE and PORT JEFF FENCE CO. and the Mt. Sinai School sign on the left. You will see a STORAGE COMPANY on the right.

Make a left at this light.   You will enter the Mount Sinai School campus.

Middle School courts are behind the 2nd building on the left. High School tennis courts are located next to the High School
