This program is designed focus on technical aspects of tennis
skills with varying intensity levels.
Following USTA High Performance Player
Development guidelines.
The curriculum for the
SCJTL High Performance program center on students gaining:
1. Proper understanding of
pre- and post-match warm-up and recovery techniques.
2. Understanding of the
importance of specific fitness training for tennis.
3. The awareness of good
technical fundamentals of tennis movement and strokes necessary to practice
purposefully for improvement.
4. A foundation for
building an individual style of play.
The SCJTL High Performance
Player Development program is designed to maintain a strong
technical focus beyond anything else.
The SCJTL HP Coaching team believes any player who is looking for
extensive point play should NOT be directed towards this program but
try the
SCJTL
Competition
Squad
and
Competition Tennis Camps.
Topics:
Mechanics and Form -
All Tennis Strokes
Court Movement
Getting junior tennis players to move like the pro's, using
developmental progressions, for High Performance tennis competition.
All SCJTL HP players receive player evaluation at the end of each
program series.
Parent consultations for developing Player Developmental plan.
Open to
Middle School, Jr. Varsity and Varsity level players
USTA Level 3 and 2 tournament experienced players.
USTA Regional and Sectional ranked players.
*USTA Level 1 tournament and top 20 Sectional ranked players.
Most Important: Players who are committed to follow a tennis training that will get
them to play like top level players!
*Training
session for this tennis skill and experience level may be developed
if there are enough players to schedule. Determination of this level
will be made by SCJTL HP Coaching Staff through a separate
evaluation process.
No other program focuses in these important aspects of tennis like
this one.
