Program Description
3 hour clinic every Saturday
encompassing all of the skills and knowledge that a school
tennis team player needs to reach the next level.
Designed to help middle school and high school tennis
players (grades 7 through 12) develop a well rounded game
that they can use to improve their success in match play
during their competitive season.

Emphasis on
tennis skills essential for tennis
team competition.
Ground strokes.
Net-game and Serve/Return
Offensive,
Defensive and Neutral shots.
Transition and point ending shots
Singles Strategy
Doubles Strategy
Proper practice and warm-up technique
Rules of tennis
Equipment care
Sportsmanship

Tournaments scheduled throughout the

Comp Squad players generate SCJTL
Site and Program ranking points.
Must
register for at least one practice
session along with Challenge Series
tournament session for ranking

WEATHER CANCELLATIONS
All cancellations will be determined by no later than 2 hrs. before
scheduled session.
MAKE-UPS
A program make-up date is scheduled for August 12, 2012 from 2:00
PM to 5:00 PM.
Refunds or credits will be issued for anyone whose session was
cancelled due to the weather and cannot attend the make-up.
The amount of refund will be based on the registration rate per
session and for the number of cancelled sessions less the program
make-up if attended.
Credits may be applied to other SCJTL programs.
Refunds will be made at the end of the program.
Jimmy Delevante
Comp Squad Head Coach
Received a scholarship to play tennis for Queens College
varsity men’s tennis team. The Queen’s College Knights
achieved a school-best ranking of #34 in the country.
Jimmy
works in the fall and winter at Sportime in Kings Park as a full time
tennis professional.
Jimmy is a USPTA Certified Pro 2 Teaching Professional, SCJTL Player Development Coach,
Co-Director of the SCJTL Competition Squad camp Assistant
Director at the SCJTL Competition Tennis Camp, SCJTL
Summer League Northport Site Director
and SCJTL High Performance PD camps.
Jimmy
Delevante is also a member of the USTA Suffolk County
District Board.
Jimmy has been ranked as high as #3 in the USTA Eastern
Men's Open and #20 in the USTA National Men's Open. He spent
the first 6 months of 2012 playing International Tennis
Federation (ITF) tournament throughout the US, Mexico,
Paraguay, and Canada.

Joshua Wolfson
Comp Squad Head Coach
Graduated with a degree in physical education from Hofstra
University.
He has several years of coaching experience
including the 2007 Northport High School girls junior
varsity tennis team.
Josh is a USPTA Certified Pro 2 Teaching Professional, SCJTL
Player Development Coach, SCJTL Mt. Sinai Site Director and
Co-Director of the SCJTL Competition Squad camp.
Joshua
Wolfson is also a member of the new USTA Suffolk County
District Board
Jimmy Delevante and Josh Wolfson began their tennis careers together
as a doubles team from Commack High School where they reached the
state championships and finished ranked #5 in New York State in
2003.
Josh and Jimmy are USPTA and QuickStart Tennis certified tennis
professionals.
They are involved in Suffolk County Community tennis as USTA Suffolk
County District Board Members.

SCJTL Competition Squad played the first ever Junior Team Tennis match at the National
Tennis Center on Friday, July 14, 2006.
