Tournament Schedule

Scheduling:

Tournament officially starts Monday, August 30, 2010.

All rounds must be completed before Final’s weekend October 2 and 3, 2010

Round schedules and deadlines:

Mixed Doubles   (Starts August 30^th)
first scheduled round must concluded by Sunday, September 12, 2010.

Second scheduled round must concluded by Tuesday, September 21, 2010.

Third scheduled round must concluded by Sunday, September 26, 2010.

Fourth scheduled ROUND (Semi-Finals) must concluded by Thursday, September 30, 2010.

Women/Men’s Singles and Doubles   (Starts September 4th)

first scheduled round must concluded by Sunday, September 12, 2010.

Second scheduled round must concluded by Sunday, September 19, 2010.

Third scheduled round must concluded by Sunday, September 26, 2010.

Fourth scheduled ROUND (Semi-Finals) must concluded by Thursday, September 30, 2010.

Everyone must have played at least one match by the end of the first scheduled round, of all events.

This includes players/teams with byes.

Reservations for tournament matches may be made up to 4 days ahead.
Indicated  “Club Championship Match “ when making reservation:
Singles: 1 ½ hr
Doubles: 2 hrs

All matches will be allowed to be played to completion. All other reservations will be advised of this.

 Finals schedule

Please note: Semi Final rounds are still being played and Finals schedule is currently being developed.
Finals schedule may change.
For the Finals schedule information call the PJCC Tennis Pro Shop (631-285-1815) on Saturday and Sunday mornings.
Please do not call for this info during Call-In time (9:15am  to 9:45 am)!

 Any changes in match times will be posted as Finals Weekend approaches.

Reservations may be made for court time to start at 7 am finish by 9:30 am.

Court 6 will be used for lessons during both days of finals weekend.

Come on down this Saturday and Sunday and cheer the finalists of the biggest Club Championship ever!

Food and beverages will be served and a good time will be had by all.

Any changes due to the weather will be announced as soon as it is available.

The 2008 PJCC Tennis Club Championships and Dick O’Rourke Memorial Tennis Tournament featured 84 members who played 118 matches in the largest tennis club championship in PJCC history up to 2008.

Since 2009 PJCC Tennis Club Championships and Dick O’Rourke Memorial Tennis Tournament was even bigger with 92 members who played 148 matches!

2010 currently has over 80 members so far!

2010 Club Championships and Dick O'Rourke Memorial Tournament
Rules
August 30 to October 3, 2010

               Open to PJCC Tennis Club members who have been members since June 1, 2010.

               All players registered for the Club Championship do so agreeing to all rules and conditions of this tournament set by the Tournament Chairperson.

               Players registered for both singles and doubles must be able to schedule their matches in both tournaments without causing delays within the tournaments.

               In the event of rain delays, the schedule will be dictated by the Tournament Chairperson so as to finish the tournament on time.

               The final decision regarding any issue will be made by the Tournament Chairperson.

               Trophies will be awarded to Winners and Finalists of each event.

               Tournament fee: $15 per player per tournament. $10.00 per person for each event thereafter

No entry without payment.

               Players or teams who default in the first round of the Club Championship Main Draw also  default from the same event in the Dick O'Rourke Memorial tournament.

Format
All rounds except for the Finals: First to win 2 sets wins the match.
Ad scoring.  
A twelve-point tiebreaker will be played in all matches when the set score reaches 6-6.
A Match 10 pt tiebreaker will be played in lieu of 3^rd set.
Instructions in playing a Match Tiebreak will be posted on the Club bulletin board.
All Final rounds will play 2 out of 3 sets (12 point tiebreaker when the set score reaches 6-6).

Balls:
Both players (teams) must bring new unopened can of balls. Winners keep new balls.

Scores:
Report scores by writing score on draw sheet posted in lobby.

USTA rules of tennis are in effect:

Lateness:
5 minutes = loss of toss
10 minutes = loss of toss + first game
15 minutes = Default
