SCJTL Executive Director Joe Arias receives YES
Outstanding Leader in the Community Award
SCJTL
Founder and Executive Director Joe Arias
to be presented
an award from YES for Outstanding Leadership in the
Community.
On Monday,
October 20, 2008, Youth Enrichment Services (YES) will hold
its “YES Goes Green” Golf and Tennis Fundraiser at The
Southward Ho Country Club in Bay Shore.
Monies raised at
this event will benefit YES’ efforts to continue providing
services and programs aimed at youth development,
empowerment and delinquency prevention for youth residing in
Bay Shore, Brentwood, Central Islip and West Islip, more
specifically the YES Mentoring program which includes golf
and tennis mentoring. This one-on-one golf and tennis
nontraditional mentoring exposes youth from needy areas to
things they normally would not experience. The youth also
participate in life skills training which includes self
advocacy, leadership, teambuilding, decision making and goal
setting. All services are provided free of charge and
inclusive of all children.
This year we are proud to honor Joe Arias, USTA Eastern
Suffolk County District President, Suffolk County Junior
Tennis League Founder & Executive Director, and Director of
Tennis of the Port Jefferson Country Club.
YES will be presenting Joe Arias with an award for
Outstanding Leadership in the Community along with Patty
Ellis, Founder of the Executive Women’s Golf Association. .
This day promises to offer a magnificent four star lunch,
amazing silent auction and the opportunity to play golf or
tennis on one of the most sought after courses on the east
coast. The event, “YES Goes Green,” will benefit the YES
Mentoring Program which includes one-on-one golf and
tennis.
YES’Luncheon brings together several hundred YES friends,
allies and supporters from all across long Island.
Tennis starts at 12:00 PM with courtside lunch followed by
tennis clinic and Round Robin match play.
A Silent Auction follows and the day will culminate with an
awards banquet from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM.
YES respectfully requests that you will consider a
sponsorship, an item for the silent auction and/or attending
to provide support to this very important event. YES
provides a significant number of important services free of
charge to the communities of Bay Shore, Brentwood, Central
Islip and West Islip and is charged with the mission to
continue to do so.
